Lady Raiders win two out of three doubles matches over host Miami
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Texas Tech Women's Tennis team opened the 2017 spring slate with two doubles match wins over host No. 12 Miami on day one of the Miami Spring Invitational.
No. 14 doubles duo Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici took down the Hurricane's Dominika Paterova and Clara Tanielian, 6-3.
Teammates Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba followed suit with a 6-3 win over Sinead Lohan and Ana Madcur of Miami.
Alex Valenstein picked up the lone win in the singles with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Vanderbilt's Emily Kurtz.
The Lady Raiders continue tournament play tomorrow at 8 a.m. CT. Texas Tech will face the University of Kentucky in doubles play while taking on Miami in singles action.
