Red Raider Cross Country Set for NCAA Pre-Nationals

Texas Tech wraps regular season competition in Louisville, Kentucky, to prepare for the Big 12 Championships.
LUBBOCK, Texas – This week the Texas Tech cross country is traveling to Louisville, Kentucky, to compete against top-ranked teams at the NCAA Pre-Nationals race, serving as a precursor to the national championships in November at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park.
The men's team was moved to the 10 a.m. race. Shea Whatley will run in the 11:30 a.m. race by himself. The women will follow with their 6k route immediately following at 12:15 p.m.
Competing for the Red Raiders in this weekend's competition is: Stephen Alvarez, Kaylee Amershek, Michael Benoit, Clark Blunt, Nokuthula Dlamini, Nathan Gift, Todd Mickey, Bret Leigh Nance, Lauren Offerman, Taryn Otto, Hattie Schunk, Jasmine Torres, Shea Whatley, Ebenether Wondaferew, Lauren Younger and Joacim Zuniga.Â
The meet will be streamed live on FloTrack.org.
Two weeks ago at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival, runners Dlamini and Zuniga led the front for the men and women, taking finishes at eighth and seventh to aid the women's and men's teams to top-five finishes overall.
Dlamini has led the women in all four competitions in which the Red Raiders have competed this season.
The Red Raiders will begin post-season competition in two weeks at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday, October 28 in Round Rock, Texas.
