Artem Kapshuk lost a three-setter in Friday’s consolation draw at the Saint Francis/ITA All-American Championships.

Tulsa, Okla. – Artem Kapshuk of the Texas Tech men's tennis team dropped a 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 decision to UNLV's Alexander Cozbinov during Friday's consolation draw of the Saint Francis/ITA All-American Championships at the Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus.

Kapshuk fired out to a one-set advantage and stormed to a 6-2 win. However, Cozbinov drew even and claimed the last two games of set two, 7-5. The two players held serve in the first five games of the third set before Cozbinov emerged with three of the four games to take the match.

Texas Tech returns to action at the UTSA Fall Cup on Oct. 13-15 in San Antonio before heading to the TIA Texas Regional on Oct. 19-23 hosted by Texas A&M.
