Lady Raiders Host LSU for Big 12/SEC Challenge

Texas Tech looks to return to the win column in matchup against another SEC foe
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lady Raider Basketball team welcomes LSU into the United Supermarkets Arena on Thursday for the Big 12/SEC Challenge matchup.

This is the first time the Lady Raiders (3-2) will host and the second straight season Texas Tech will face an SEC opponent in the series. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Southwest Plus. It can also be heard on the Texas Tech Sports Network on 107.7 FM, with live stats available via Sidearmstats.com/texastech/wbball/.

Thursday's game will be the first time the Lady Raiders have faced the Tigers since the 2005 season. Texas Tech trails in the all-time series 1-8, with the lone win coming on Nov. 13, 1999 in Lubbock.

The Lady Raiders had their three-game win streak snapped on Sunday after losing to SEC foe Texas A&M, 90-65. Overall, the Lady Raiders are 84-62 against members of the SEC.

Sophomore Brittany Brewer led the team once again with 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks against the Aggies. Brewer has scored double-digit points in all five games this season.

The Tigers enter the midweek matchup with a 3-3 record after earning a win over Saint Louis, 71-59, during the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout in Las Vegas. Senior Raigyne Louis and junior Chloe Jackson finished the game with 23 points each, the second night in a row that both players reached the 20-plus scoring mark.

The Lady Raiders travel to Houston this weekend for the first road contest of the season. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday at H&PE Arena on the Texas Southern campus.
