Freshman Lyndsey Whilby posted a career-high 21 points in win on Thursday
LUBBOCK, Texas – Five Lady Raiders scored double-digit points en route to an 80-54 victory over Incarnate Word Thursday afternoon.

Texas Tech improved to 6-5 entering Big 12 play while Incarnate Word dropped to 1-10 on the season.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the Lady Raiders outscored the Cardinals 24-8 to take a 45-26 lead into the break.

In the second period alone, Tech shot 52.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from the arc while holding Incarnate Word to just 31 percent from the field.

The Cardinals went 8-for-37 from the field during the second half which wasn't enough to cut into the Lady Raiders' 20+point lead.

In her first collegiate start, Lyndsey Whilby led the team with a career-high 21 points, three rebounds and two steals. Junior Recee' Caldwell followed with 13 points, nine assists and three blocks.

Sophomore Erin DeGrate tallied 12 points in her third straight double-digit point game. Bigs Brittany Brewer and Jada Terry posted 10 points each while Terry added 13 rebounds to her line, marking her first double-double of the year and sixth of her career.
