Lady Raiders Sweep K-State in Big 12 Opener

Texas Tech continues road swing at Kansas on Sunday
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The No. 8 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team picked up another 4-0 sweep Friday afternoon as the Lady Raiders defeated Kansas State in the Big 12 opener.

Texas Tech (11-3) opened the match with two 6-2 wins over K-State (8-6) in doubles play. Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici clinched the first win over Stretton and Garcia Navas just before duo Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba claimed the doubles point on court two.

In singles action, Maltby extended the Lady Raiders lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court two over Millie Stretton. Sophomore Alex Valenstein followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Ines Mesquita on court three.

Junior Gabriela Talaba clinched the match as she defeated Carolina Costamanga, 6-4, 6-2, on court one.
