Women’s Tennis Opens Big 12 Play at Kansas State

Lady Raiders vs. Kansas State – Friday at 3 p.m.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 6 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team kicks off the 2017 Big 12 season at Kansas State on Friday. First serve is set for 3 p.m. in Manhattan, Kan.
Texas Tech (10-3, 0-0 Big 12) began a six-match road stretch that will run through March 24. The Lady Raiders will face Kansas State and Kansas in the opening weekend of Big 12 play then travel to Illinois for two non-conference match ups over Spring Break.
The Lady Raiders will conclude the six-match stretch at Texas on March 24 before hosting Baylor on March 26.
Texas Tech earned two sweeping wins over No. 22 TCU and No. 29 Rice last weekend before picking up their third straight win at Wichita State on Wednesday.
Kansas State (7-5, 0-0 Big 12) enters the weekend on a two-match losing streak after dropping a 4-2 decision to Houston at home. The Wildcats will host a match against Nebraska-Omaha at 10 a.m. prior to facing the Lady Raiders.
Texas Tech will travel to Lawrence, Kan., to face No. 19 Kansas (6-3, 0-0 Big 12) on Sunday at noon. The Jayhawks are led by former assistant coach Todd Chapman. The team will host TCU on Friday before meeting the Lady Raiders on Sunday.
