
Women’s Tennis Wins Seventh Straight Match

Lady Raiders defeat No. 48 Northwestern, 4-2, marking 10th ranked win of the season
EVANSTON, Ill. – The No. 7 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team (14-3) claimed its seventh straight win with a 4-2 victory over No. 48 Northwestern on Sunday afternoon. The win was the 10th over a ranked opponent this season.
Northwestern (5-7) clinched the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead with wins on courts three and one.
Junior Katelyn Jackson tied the match 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jillian Rooney on court six. Jackson improves to 8-2 on the season and has won eight straight matches.
The Lady Raiders took a 2-1 lead as No. 109 Alex Valenstein defeated Northwestern's No. 111 Lee Or in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).
Northwestern tied the match up at 2-2 as Maddie Lipp defeated No. 40 Felicity Maltby, 6-2, 7-6 ().
No. 17 Gabriela Talaba gave the Lady Raiders the 3-2 lead with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Erin Larner.
Junior Sarah Dvorak clinched the match with a comeback win in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 6-2) over Rheeya Doshi.

The Lady Raiders return to Big 12 action on Friday in Austin, Texas, as they face No. 30 Texas for a noon first serve. Texas Tech returns home for a five-match stretch beginning on Sunday when they host No. 16 Baylor at 1 p.m.
