Lady Raiders to Face TCU in Big 12 Tournament Opener

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders head to Oklahoma City, Okla., this weekend to compete in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

Texas Tech will face TCU on Friday at 6 p.m. on FOX College Sports.

With a win on Monday, the Lady Raiders earned the No. 8 seed in the Big 12 Championship and will face No. 9 seed TCU on Friday at 6 p.m.
Friday's game marks the 50th meeting between Texas Tech and TCU. The Lady Raiders lead 41-8 in the all-time series and hold a 7-1 record when playing at a neutral site. The last time the two teams met at a neutral site was on March 7, 2014, in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.
The two teams split the series this season with wins on their home courts.
The Lady Raiders improved to 13-16 on the season, 5-13 in the Big 12 after defeating TCU, 79-64, on Monday. Tech finished 8th in the conference and clinched the No. 8 seed for the tournament. Junior Larryn Brooks led the team with a career-high 21 points.
This is the first time since the 2007-08 season that the Lady Raiders have faced the same opponent in the final game of the regular season and the opening game of the Big 12 tournament.
TCU dropped to 12-17 on the season a 4-14 in Big 12 play after Monday night's game. The Horned Frogs are on a six-game losing streak.
This is the third straight year for TCU to face the same opponent in back-to-back games heading into the Big 12 Tournament.
