T&F Set for One-Day Meet in Fort Worth

The Red Raiders are set for competition at the Horned Frog Invitational as well as the Mt. SAC Relays.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech track & field will take on Fort Worth, Texas, and Walnut, California, for the Horned Frog Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays April 14-15.

Competitors at the Horned Frog Invitational are: Arizona, Florida, TCU, Northern Illinois and Oklahoma State.
WORLD LEADERS
Trey Culver and Charles Brown are topping the world ranks in the jumps category with their performances from Texas Relays. Culver and Brown were jumping simultaneously in the men's high jump and long jump in Austin, both ending their competition with 2.24m7-4.25 and 8.14m/26-8.50 marks respectively. Culver and Brown currently sit ninth and fourth in the world. C.J. Jones holds his ninth-place world ranking in the men's 800-meter at a 1:46.70 pace. Andrew is another addition to the list from the Sun Angel Classic with his 20.43 No. 9 world-ranked run. The men's 4x400 (Kyle Collins, Steven Champlin, C.J. Jones, Vincent Crisp) holds their top position at No. 6 with their 3:03.28 run. Collins is also ranked individually at No. 21 with his 45.79 400-meter run.
REGION RANKS
44 Red Raiders have performed top-eight regional marks this season. All four relay teams lead the Mountain region in first place with their 4x100 and 4x400 times. On top of the relays, seven Red Raiders are individual region leaders:

*Trey Culver (2.24m/7-4.25) - High Jump
*Drew McMichael (5.20m/17-0.75) - Pole Vault

*Viershanie Latham (13.46m/44-2) - Triple Jump
GOING THE DISTANCE
Five Red Raiders are travelling to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California, to compete in the 10,000-meter, steeplechase and 5,000-meter races. Senior Jocelyn Caro and junior Miguel Bautista are the 10k competitors. 2016 Big 12 3,000-meter steeplechase Champion Benard Keter will be making his outdoor season debut running his first steeplechase race of the season. Hattie Schunk and Jasmine Torres will wrap up the Mt. SAC Relays with their 5k runs.
TOP-10
The men's team snagged their first top-10 spot this season coming in at No. 10. This upward movement is owed to three performances at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Arizona. Andrew Hudson ran his school-record 20.43 200-meter dash. This time is also conference leading and fourth in the nation. Charles Jones and Vincent Crisp also notched new personal-best 800-meter runs. Jones' run ranks ninth in the world, fifth in the nation and first in conference.

Next week Texas Tech will head to Waco, Texas, for the Michael Johnson Invitational on April 22.
