Robertson Helps Lead U.S. to Junior World Cup Title

Team USA under JoJo Robertson won the Toyota Junior World Cup on Friday with a five-stroke victory
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's golf coach JoJo Robertson helped lead the United States to its second-consecutive team crown at the Toyota Junior World Cup held this week at the Chuhkyo Golf Club in Nagoya, Japan.

Backed by strong play over the final 36 holes, Robertson's three-player squad outlasted host Japan by five strokes for the team title as the U.S. finished with a 12-under-par 564 final card that was calculated by taking the top two scores from each round.

"This was such a great week and I'm so honored to have been a part of it," Robertson said. "Our team was incredible and played great golf. I'm so happy for these girls. I'm looking forward to seeing them in college golf and following their careers. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be around."

The U.S. opened the 72-hole event by combining to shoot 1-under over the first two days before responding with a tournament-low 7-under card on Thursday and then a 4-under round to close the tournament Friday.

Japan was the only other country to finish in the red at 7-under. Australia and Italy tied for third at 7-over while Colombia was 9-over in fifth place. South Africa, France, Mexico and the Philippines rounded out the field in sixth through ninth overall.

Robertson's trip to Japan came a few weeks after the Lady Raiders completed their 2016-17 campaign with their third NCAA Championships appearance in program history. Two of those appearances have come under Robertson, who has led Tech to a NCAA Regional in seven of her eight seasons.
