Men's tennis collects seven wins on Friday in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Texas Tech men's tennis team secured seven singles wins on Friday in their second day in the Golden State at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships.
The Red Raiders entered Friday's round of 32 with five players in the singles main draw as Bjorn Thomson and Ilgiz Valiev both advanced before falling in the round of 16 to put an end to their singles run.
In the consolation bracket, Tech flexed their way to a 6-1 record, as Tommy Mylnikov, Artem Kapshuk and Matheus Leite all picked up a pair of wins to advance to the round of 16, which will be played on Saturday.
In doubles play, the teams of Mylnikov/Thomson and Bloss/Leite won their respective matches and qualified for the main draw.
