Tech Volleyball Welcomes TCU Saturday

Red Raiders are 6-1 at home this season and enter in a three-way tie with TCU and Iowa State for fifth in the Big 12 standings.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech returns home to close out the month of October, hosting TCU Saturday at 1 p.m. in United Supermarkets Arena in a key matchup to determine positioning in the Big 12 standings.

The Red Raiders (15-8, 4-5) and Horned Frogs (12-8, 4-5) sit in a three-way tie for fifth place entering Saturday, and Tech will look to avenge a four-set loss to the Frogs from earlier this month.

Tech, which has played four of its last five on the road, is at home for just the third time this month and the first time since hosting Kansas on October 13. The Red Raiders are looking to get back on track having dropped their last five matches following a 4-0 start to conference play.

Tech enters Saturday on the heels of a four-set loss at West Virginia on Wednesday. Tech outhit the Mountaineers .191 to .184 and freshman Brooke Kanas had a match-high 18 kills, but WVU put together late runs in the second and third sets to find their way to the win.

TCU, meanwhile, has dropped three of their last four since the last meeting between the two teams, including a tight five-set home battle to Baylor on Wednesday.

With seven matches remaining in the regular season, Tech is one win shy of matching its highest Big 12 win total since 2002. With 15 wins on the year, the Red Raiders have also already matched their regular-season win total from 2017.

The Red Raiders have been tough at home, boasting a 6-1 record at United Supermarkets Arena this season. With the team's success under Graystone, the fanbase has responded as over 1,000 fans have been attendance at each of the last three home matches.

Tech has won three of the last four against TCU and earned a 3-1 win over the Horned Frogs at home last season. With their win earlier this season in Fort Worth, TCU holds a slim 10-9 lead in the overall series. Saturday will mark the 20th overall meeting between the two teams with Graystone owning a 3-3 mark versus the Frogs.

First serve will be announced following the announcement of football game times on Monday. Kansas (13-6, 6-2) is one match back of the Big 12 lead and swept the Red Raiders in Lubbock on Oct. 13.
