Soccer Hosting NCAA Selection Show Watch Party

Join the Red Raiders at the Tech Club as they learn their postseason seeding and location of first round game.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech soccer is hosting a watch party for Monday's NCAA Tournament Selection Show, where it will be revealed who the Red Raiders will be facing off against in the first round. The Tech Club will be open to fans and media beginning at 3 p.m., and the show will begin at 3:30 p.m.
A selection for Tech would be the sixth time in the last seven years the Red Raiders have been invited to the big dance. After compiling the program's most overall wins (13) and conference wins (five) since 2015, head coach Tom Stone believes it is just a matter of whether or not the Red Raiders will host a first round game.
"We've certainly got a good resume," said Stone. "The question is what does our RPI do for us? If it puts us in a position to host, that's fantastic, but we've got to sit back and let the committee do their job."
If not the nation-leading 12 shutouts, perhaps the most impressive part of Tech's resume has to be five wins – four of which were shutouts – over teams in the Big 12, which stands as the toughest RPI conference in the country.
Should the Red Raiders be given the chance to host, they would have the opportunity to defend their perfect 4-0 record when playing first round games at the John Walker Complex. Tech has outscored opponents by a combined 14-0, having never allowed a goal in Lubbock in the NCAA Tournament.
Tech's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament dates back to 2012. Under Stone's leadership, the Red Raiders tallied 16 wins and earned the program's first-ever bid to the NCAA postseason. Since then, Tech owns a 5-4-1 record in the tournament, including a 4-1 mark in the first round.
Depending on how the bracket works out, Tech's first round match will either be on Nov. 9, 10 or 11. More information will be made available after the selection show.
