Texas Tech Baseball Season Tickets Sold Out
December 17, 2018 | Baseball
Texas Tech athletics has sold more than 2,600 season tickets for the 2019 baseball season.
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the fifth-straight year, Texas Tech has sold out of season tickets for the upcoming baseball season.
Â
Coming off its third College World Series appearances in the last five seasons has propelled ticket sales to over 2,600 season tickets for the 2019 season. The total number of tickets sold matches last year's sales record and has led to the fifth sellout in seven years under head coach Tim Tadlock and his staff's leadership.
Â
"Our staff and team would like to thank Red Raider Nation for the passion and commitment you bring to the ballpark throughout the spring," Tadlock said. "Your energy and passion is something that we do not take for granted.
Â
"When we started, we set out to put a roster together that would not allow you to feel like you could turn your head while we are playing – and that time is getting closer and closer. Our 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 teams have had some success, but we all want more. We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark!"
Â
The Red Raiders will play 34 games inside the confines of Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park in 2019. Nine of their 21 games against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams will be played in Lubbock. Tech will also host three Power-5 Conference teams in non-conference play, including Oregon of the PAC-12, Kentucky of the SEC and Michigan of the Big Ten.
Â
Opening day in Lubbock is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15, against Oregon at 2 p.m. The Red Raiders begin their 70th season of Texas Tech baseball with an eight-game home stand that features four games against the Ducks, a three-game set with Kentucky (Feb. 22-24) and a date against New Mexico State on Feb. 26.
