April 13, 2018 | Women's Volleyball
Red Raiders will square off with four opponents at Angelo State tournament.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team will play in its second of three spring events this Saturday, April 14, when it heads to San Angelo for a busy day of action at Angelo State's Junell Center.
Â
The Red Raiders will participate in four matches on the day, starting at 9 a.m. with Angelo State alumnae. Tech will take on Cisco College at 10 a.m. and Ranger College at 11 a.m., before wrapping up the day with a 2 p.m. showdown against sister-school Angelo State. The Belles finished 21-10 in 2017 with a 13-7 mark in the Lone Star Conference.
Â
"We want to keep making progress over the things that we had on our list from the end of the season," head coach Tony Graystone said. "Being fast with our offense, getting our new kids involved with what we do, and get better out of system. Let the systems we have in place sink in for another year, and you layer them on top of each other and you should look better."
Â
The Red Raiders opened their spring season in Lubbock with straight-set wins over Lubbock Christian, Angelo State, Abilene Christian and New Mexico in the Texas Tech Spring Tournament on March 24.
Â
Following the San Angelo tournament, Tech will wrap up its spring tour with a visit to Plano, Texas, where it will take on Tulsa and Baylor on Saturday, April 21, from Madfrog Volleyball Gym, starting at 1 p.m.
