Women’s Tennis Captures Win Over No. 11 Oklahoma State

Lady Raiders defeat #11 Oklahoma State, 4-1
STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 13 Texas Tech Women's Tennis team earned their seventh ranked win of the season with a 4-1 victory over No. 11 Oklahoma State Sunday afternoon. It was the second win over a Top 15 team.
The Lady Raiders (16-5, 5-2 Big 12) quickly took a 1-0 lead after capturing the doubles point over the Cowgirls (16-3, 5-2 Big 12). No. 89 doubles pair Gabriela Talaba and Felicity Maltby took a 6-0 win on court two just before Alex Valenstein and Lana Rush defeated the OSU duo, 6-1, on court three.
Katelyn Jackson gave the Lady Raiders a 2-0 advantage as she took 12 straight games for the win on court six. With the win, Jackson extends her win streak to three matches.
No. 96 Sabrina Federici moved to 4-1 in Big 12 play with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Marina Guinart on court four.
Oklahoma State's No. 23 Valadica Babic defeated Talaba in straight sets to score the Cowgirls lone point of the match.
Valenstein clinched the match point for the Lady Raiders with her 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 102 Katarina Stresnakova. Valenstein has clinched the match for Tech three times this season.

The Lady Raiders travel to West Virginia and Iowa State for the Big 12 finale next weekend. Tech will face the Mountaineers on Friday at 4 p.m. (CT) and the Cyclones on Sunday at 11 a.m.
