Lady Raiders Wrap Regular Season This Weekend

Texas Tech to face West Virginia on Friday, Iowa State on Sunday
LUBBOCK, Texas – In the final week of regular season play, the No. 13 Lady Raiders are headed to West Virginia and Iowa State this weekend.

Texas Tech (15-5, 5-2 Big 12) is set to face West Virginia (7-11, 1-6 Big 12) on Friday at 4 p.m. before closing out the Big 12 season at Iowa State (9-14, 0-7 Big 12) on Sunday. First serve is set for 11 a.m.

Last weekend, the Lady Raiders picked up their second Top 15 win of the season over No. 11 Oklahoma State. Tech dropped the Cowgirls, 4-1, on their senior day to close out the sweep over the Oklahoma schools. Alex Valenstein was a big contributor against OSU as she and teammate Katelyn Jackson clinched the doubles point before she captured the match point on court three in singles play.

West Virginia is on a four-match losing streak after falling 4-0 to No. 5 Texas, No. 25 Baylor and No. 16 Kansas. The Mountaineers defeated Iowa State, 4-1, in their only Big 12 win of the season.

Iowa State is also on a four-match losing streak, their last win coming at Drake on March 29. Â

The Lady Raiders travel to Austin, Texas, for the Big 12 tournament next weekend. Texas Tech will find out their seeding at the end of the weekend when all teams have finished competing.
