Red Raiders tee off at the Dale McNamara Invitational at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning in Tulsa
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech women's golf team will face another challenging field Monday when the Red Raiders tee off at the Dale McNamara Invitational held at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Â
The two-day tournament opens with 36 holes Monday morning. The first 18 holes will commence with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start followed by the second round in a scheduled 1:30 p.m. start. The remaining 18 holes will tee off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday morning.
Â
The Red Raiders will be one of 13 teams in the field as Tech is joined by Big 12 counterpart No. 17 Oklahoma State as well as No. 33 Texas A&M and No. 98 Texas State, both of which Tech faced just a week ago at the Bruzzy Challenge in Dallas.
Â
Tech head coach JoJo Robertson will use the same lineup as the Red Raiders' previous five tournaments this spring, sending seniors Gabby Barker and Lauren Mason out with junior Mami Yamamoto and freshmen Louisa Brunt and Amy Taylor.
Â
As a team, Tech finished eighth overall at the Bruzzy Challenge, marking the Red Raiders' third top-10 finish this spring and sixth of the season. Barker finished sixth individually after sinking five birdies, including four over her final six holes, for her second top-10 finish of the season.
Â
Mason carded a similar strong final round to move into a tie for 13th overall, her fifth top-20 finish this year and her third already this spring. Mason leads the Red Raider lineup with a 73.8 stroke average this season followed by Yamamoto at a 74.3 clip and Barker at a 74.6 mark.
Â
The Dale McNamara Invitational marks the first of two tournaments this week alone for the Red Raiders, who will also travel to the Lady Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue this weekend. The two tournaments are Tech's final prep before the Big 12 Championships on April 20-22 in Dallas.
Â
Tech will be paired with both Texas A&M and Texas State during Monday's opening round. Live scoring throughout the tournament can be found at Birdiefire.com.
