September 16, 2018 | Men's Tennis
Trio of Red Raiders place in the top two following a busy weekend.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Texas Tech men's tennis team wrapped up play at the 2018 Chowder Fest on Sunday afternoon.
Juniors Parker Wynn and Bjorn Thomson finished the weekend in the runner-up position of the first doubles flight, sporting a 3-1 record on the weekend.
Ilgiz Valiev also made noise during the event, as the sophomore from Ufa, Russia went 2-1 in the first singles flight and also took runner-up honors.
"It was a good first event for our guys." Head coach Brett Masi said. "We didn't play our best tennis on Sunday, but there are a lot of positives to take from this weekend. We have some things to work on for the upcoming events, but overall it was a solid first event and we're ready for more tennis in the coming weeks."
The Red Raiders will return to action next weekend in both the Battle of the Bay in San Francisco, and the Cajun Fall Classic in Lafayette, Louisiana.
