No. 18 Texas Tech Faces First Big 12 Road Test

LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 18 Texas Tech will head to Ames for its first road test of Big 12 play Thursday.

After securing four points in the opening weekend of Big 12 play, the Red Raiders will be tested by an Iowa State team that is strong at home despite residing at the bottom of the conference all season long. At 3-7-0 and 0-2 in the Big 12 after last week, the Cyclones are looking to secure their first points and pull off a potentially huge upset over the top-20 Red Raiders.

The series history with Iowa State is tied perfectly it 11-11-1, but the Cyclones have managed to best Tech seven times in 11 matches in Ames. Stone recognizes the nature of playing them on the road, and stresses the importance of handling business this weekend.

"Iowa State is a solid team," Stone said. "They may not be in the conference title picture, but they will screw those hopes up for someone. We have to make sure that's not us."

Tech's tilt with the Cyclones will be at 7 p.m. Thursday and will be streamed here with live stats available here. It will be the Red Raiders' lone game of the weekend.
