Ramsey Records 44/12 Double-Double in Win

NASSAU – Texas Tech freshman Jahmi'us Ramsey went off for 44 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Red Raiders to a 94-92 win over Mega Bemax on Thursday at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs National Gymnasium.
Ramsey had 27 of his 44 points in the second half, while Kyler Edwards added 17 points and Terrence Shannon, Jr. and Clarence Nadolny had 13 each. The Red Raiders, who were down four at halftime, shot 46.7 percent from the field including hitting eight 3-pointers. Ramsey hit five 3-pointers and Edwards had three.
The Red Raiders and Mega Bemax will play again at noon on Sunday in the final game of the summer tour.
Ramsey, who was limited to four points in the first game of the tour, finished the game shooting 17-for-28 and secured eight offensive rebounds for the Red Raiders. He gave Tech an 82-80 lead with 6:28 remaining in the game and then put them up four with another. The Red Raiders led 90-85 with two minutes remaining on another Ramsey jumper before Mega Bemax cut it to one. Ramsey would respond through with another layup for a 92-89 advantage. Edwards hit two free throws with 22 seconds remaining to make it 94-92 and secure the win.
Edwards finished the game with seven rebounds to go along with his 17 points, while Shannon had three steals and six rebounds. Nadolny was 5-for-9 from the field and also had four rebounds. Ramsey added three steals to his double-double.
Defensively, Tech limited Mega Bemax to 26-for-65 shooting and to eight 3-pointers in the game. The Red Raiders forced 17 turnovers and limited theirs to only 10 a game after turning it over 21 times. Tech also owned a 49-46 rebounding advantage in the win.

The Red Raiders were shooting 10-for-24 from the field with five 3-pointers and had eight turnovers. Ramsey also led the team with six rebounds and had two steals. Edwards hit a pair of early 3-pointers to spark the Red Raiders and finished the first half 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. Smith added four rebounds in the first half and Shannon had six points and three rebounds. Edin led Mega Bemax with 11 points and four rebounds at the half, while Macura had 10 off the bench after 20 minutes. They were 11-for-18 from the field and were 4-for-15 on 3-pointers.
