Davis' scores counted as her second career multi-goal game. The junior, who had never knocked in more than one in her first two years as a Red Raider, has now scored twice in two of Tech's three games this season. Davis' first score came in the 35th minute, when she, on a breakaway, had her first shot blocked by the Golden Eagles keeper. She corralled the rebound and chipped it in for the goal. Then 3-0, she iced the game four minutes after halftime with a breakaway goal which she ripped into the top of the net.Â
Â
Davis' scores came as Tech's third and fourth goals of the game, but her first appearance in the box score came in the form of an assist. In the eighth minute, her second attempt at a cross into the box landed at the head of Jordie Harr, who was crashing the near post. The score was the first for Harr since suffering an ACL injury in 2017.Â
Â
"When one of the shortest girls on the team is scoring with her head, you know goals are going to come," said head coach Tom Stone. "She scored twice in her collegiate debut right here at home, so she has a flair for the dramatic when playing here."

The Sachse, Texas, native, who was in the starting lineup for the first time in two years, then assisted freshman Hannah Anderson. Anderson's score, coming in the 31st minute, was also off a header. Harr delivered a great cross to the 5-10 defender, who headed it top corner for her first collegiate goal.Â
Â
"This is a girl that can hang in the air," Stone said of Anderson. "When we recruited her, we just said, 'Man, this kid is big time in the air.' It was great to see her score. She scored in the spring and now she's scored in the fall.'"

Tech dominated every facet of the game offensively, leading in shots, 23-4. Tech put 13 of those on net and scored on just under a third of them.Â
Â
For the second straight win Stone's squad's offensive outburst gave him the opportunity to empty his bench and provide valuable game minutes to a young team. In total, 23 Red Raiders saw the pitch Thursday night.Â
Â
"The beauty of this team is they're working hard enough and deserve to play, and then, when we play them, they're producing," Stone said.Â
Â
Tech's second contest of a four-game home stand is set for Sunday when North Texas visits Lubbock for the fourth time in the last seven seasons. Tech will look to keep a perfect record against a gritty Mean Green team this decade. First touch will be at 7 p.m. Tickets are available here.Â
