LAWRENCE, Kan.  – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team fell, 67-50, to Kansas on Saturday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Texas Tech was led by Lexi Gordon with 12 points and eight rebounds on the night for her sixth double-digit outing in seven games. Brittany Brewer pulled down 12 rebounds despite only playing 21 minutes due to foul trouble.

The Lady Raiders got out to a nice start in the opening quarter, jumping out to an 8-3 lead in the early minutes of the game, thanks to a scoring outburst from Gordon, who had nine points in the first period. Kansas would score 10 of the final 12 points in the first, however, to take a 17-13 lead into the second frame.

The Jayhawks went on to take a 34-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Lady Raiders struggled to get anything going from that point, as Kansas held Tech at arm's length for the remainder of the game.

NOTABLE
- For the fifth time this season, Texas Tech went with the starting five of Chrislyn Carr, Jo'Nah Johnson, Sydney Goodson, Lexi Gordon and Brittany Brewer. The Lady Raiders moved to 3-2 this season when deploying this starting five.
- Junior Lexi Gordon recorded nine points and a pair of rebounds in the opening quarter of the game, connecting on 4-of-5 field goal attempts, including a three-pointer.
- Gordon finished the night with 12 points and eight rebounds. It was her sixth double-digit scoring performance in her last seven games.
- Senior Brittany Brewer posted six points and 12 rebounds. It was Brewer's ninth 10+ rebound game this season.
- Seven of eight Lady Raiders to get in the game on Saturday night scored four or more points.
- The Lady Raiders made 8-of-8 field goals on the night, marking the team's highest free throw percentage in a game in three seasons--a 96.2 percent performance from the line against Iowa State on Jan. 4, 2017.
- Texas Tech outrebounded the Jayhawks, 41-39, it marked the 11th time this season that Tech has outrebounded an opponent.
