Texas Tech Hosts No. 11 Kansas State for Weekend Slate

Texas Tech returns to action hosting 11th-ranked Kansas State at United Supermarkets Arena Friday and Saturday.
LUBBOCK, Texas – After sitting idle last week, the Texas Tech volleyball team is back in action Friday and Saturday against No. 11 Kansas State at United Supermarkets Arena.
Friday's match is scheduled for 3 p.m. CST while Saturday's 'Faculty Appreciation' match will be played at 1 p.m. CST. Texas Tech faculty and staff can purchase tickets to Saturday's match for $3 with a TTU ID.
Tech (3-7) will face its fourth ranked opponent of the season when the 11th-ranked Wildcats (6-4) come to town. The Red Raiders are coming off a much-needed bye week after facing the top two teams in the country in back-to-back weekends.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Raiders faced their toughest test of the season on Oct. 22 and 23 when they traveled to Austin to take on top-ranked Texas. The Longhorns won both matches in three sets against a depleted Tech roster.
Tech recorded its best service game of the season in the Friday night matchup when the Red Raiders tallied a season-high eight aces. Brooke Kanas, Samantha Sanders and Lindsey Dodson each registered a pair of aces. Emerson Solano and Allison Bloss added an ace of their own.

RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- More than halfway through the season, Red Raider libero Emerson Solano ranks third in the Big 12 in digs per set with a 4.39 average. As a team, Tech ranks third in the Big 12 with 14.62 digs per set.
- Senior Allison Bloss has had a strong final season recording 1.64 kills per set on a .385 hitting clip that ranks third in the Big 12. She is averaging 0.82 blocks per set.
- Samantha Sanders has made her mark on the Red Raiders roster; the Texas A&M transfer leads the team in kills (119) averaging 3.13 per set which ranks 10th in the Big 12. She recorded her best performance of the season against TCU where she posted two 20-kill performances with 24 kills on a .364 hitting clip in the Red Raiders four set win over the Horned Frogs.
- Through 10 matches, Red Raider setter Alex Kirby ranks fifth in the Big 12 averaging 9.62 assists per set. Kirby has recorded a team-leading five double-doubles so far this season. She tallied 52 assists and a career-high 19 digs, along with four kills and three blocks in Tech's win over Iowa State. She followed up the next weekend against TCU with a 51-assist, 12 dig performance.
- Tech ranks 12th in the NCAA in team digs with 570 on the season.
