LADY RAIDER RECAP: No. 7 Baylor 91, Texas Tech 45

WACO, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team dropped its Big 12 opener on the road on Monday night, falling, 91-45, to No. 7 Baylor at the Ferrell Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Raiders were led by Vivian Gray, who added 18 points and five assists on the night. Lexi Gordon recorded eight points and Chrislyn Carr scored seven along with four rebounds.

The Lady Raiders took an early 8-7 lead off a three-pointer from Gray, but a 13-3 run from Baylor over the back half of the frame gave the Lady Bears a 20-11 lead after the first.

Baylor scored the first seven points of the second quarter as well, before a quick couple of buckets from Gray and Gordon ended the run. The Lady Bears would grow their lead to as large as 22 in the quarter, but a 5-0 run to end the half for Tech cut the halftime deficit to 40-23.

Gray helped the Lady Raiders cut into the lead to open the second half, but Baylor ran off another 7-0 run to stretch the Lady Bear lead back to 23 at the halfway point of the third quarter.

The Lady Raiders couldn't cut into the Lady Bear lead in the fourth quarter as Baylor finished off the win.

The Lady Raiders return home next weekend to face Big 12 foe TCU on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at United Supermarkets Arena.
