Oklahoma State vs. Texas Tech

JIM LITTELL
Oklahoma State Women's Basketball Head Coach
Â
Opening Statement:
"Credit to Texas Tech, they played extremely, extremely well. I've been in this a long time and I don't know if I've ever seen anybody shoot the ball the way they shot the ball tonight. And credit them that their ball movement was good, their shot selection was good, they shared the basketball, but very, very disappointed in the way that we guarded."
Â
On the message the team can take away from this:
"I just told our group that sometimes in basketball this happens to you. I don't know if I've seen it to this extent before, but it happens to you and how you react to it during the course of the game and how you react to it after the game and the next game and practice is going to be very important. I believe that everybody faces adversity on the basketball court and in life, and how you handle adversity defines you. And we got punched in the mouth pretty good today and how we respond to that will say a lot about our kids and our program."
Â
"They got good shooters, they're second in the league in scoring behind Baylor and that's why, because they got people that can shoot the basketball."

Â
Opening StatementÂ
Well first of all I'll say we have great respect for Oklahoma State. They have been playing well as of late, they have had some kids out with injuries, and they have been in every game, so they are a team that fights in battles really hard. Moving on to our team and some things that we did today. We did a few things that don't happen very often, and we certainly want to celebrate those. It is the first 30 point Big 12 win for Tech in 15 years, which shows you how hard it is to do in our league ad how tough our league is. It just doesn't happen, 15 years that is over a decade so again incredible performance by our young ladies in that category. Then you look at the three-point shooting, the 20 made threes set a Big 12 record, not just obviously a Texas Tech record. These are the things that take 20 plus years before you're talking about them, they just don't happen very often. So, incredible performance by our young ladies, who are sitting up here and our entire team. I am proud to be their coach. Â

Â
On being the first player tonight with a double-doubleÂ
"I mean its basketball; you go out there and play with your heart and as hard as you can. I am just going to do whatever I can, if that means coming off the bench then I am going to go out there and play as hard as I can. If that is starting, then I am going to go out there and play as hard as I can. I want to be consistent in that are, just because that's so controllable."

Andrayah Adams Â
Â
On the performance tonightÂ
"Like Syd said we really have just turned a corner, like early on we didn't show that fight that we have been in the last three games, but I think it is here and it's not going anywhere."
Â
Chrislyn CarrÂ
Â
On three's back-to-backÂ
"First, I want to say it is incredible, especially Brittany she is shooting three's like a guard and it is just insane. I just knew that they could knock down those shots and I am very confident in my teammates and I just know that they can make them consistently. The effort was huge. Just being confident in our shots and knowing that they are going in and also knowing that if it doesn't go in, we will get the next shot and just have each other's backs. "Â

Â
On emotions for leading the team:
"It's so much fun, this is the most fun of basketball I have played here at Tech and so I am so blessed to play with these girls every single practice and game and under this coaching staff. It is just a lot, a lot of fun. We knew our first quarter we were not playing like this, we were just kind of sloppy, so we all talked about it and came together before the second quarter and we had some great people step up from off the bench. Tuck came in with amazing energy and it's good now that we can recognize when we are in that place and be like no we aren't doing that anymore. So, I am proud we recognized that and change it."

Â
On the game:
"This is the most points in a Big 12 game in 20 years and it's the second most ever scored in a Big 12 game. Again, I want to give our kids incredible credit in that area because we've really shifted some things from a few weeks ago and they're performing again some of their best basketball here at the beginning of February, which is great to see."
Â
On the intensity in the second half:
"I think the real shift happened in the second quarter, and I want to give credit to our freshman, Alexis Tucker, I thought she came in and really spearheaded that run, I think it was 23-2 in the second quarter of a run that we had and i thought she was crucial defensively during that time and rebounding the ball and really getting us out and she scored some great buckets and was able to put the ball on the floor. I thought that she really shifted the momentum of the game."
Â
On fight and the past few previous games:
"So, it really started with Oklahoma and the overtime win. And then we were able to go to Baylor, and they've been beaten one time this year and it was without Lauren Cox and South Carolina beat them. I'll say to that loss, we're the only team that has stayed within the 8-point final score of Baylor, and you think about that and we really used it as motivation for our team. Obviously, Baylor is outstanding, they're ranked 2 and 1 in different polls in the nation. But you were able to do that in their house, in front of 8,000 fans and no one else has done that this year. And to follow that up from our game against Oklahoma, to then do that, we really carried a lot of that momentum after we had to shake some things off there in the first quarter. But I thought we very maturely went back to the proper mindset into that second quarter and beyond."
Â
On being able to read the stats from today's game to your team:
"Well the other thing we did today is we matched our entire win total from last year and we all know that the 14 wins was the second most of a Power 5 school, so again credit to them for reaching this. It's February 1st and we're there. This group has bigger goals. They have a postseason mindset and I think they're really locked into that right now. There's a lot of basketball left to be played here, we certainly can't relax and be complacent. I like the momentum and where we're headed right now."
