Texas Tech to Raise Funds to Honor the Memory of Andre Emmett

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Athletics is partnering with the Nancy Lieberman Charities to raise funds for the installation of a Lubbock Dream Court in memory of Texas Tech Hall of Famer Andre Emmett, who passed away on September 23, 2019, in Dallas. Texas Tech Athletics will honor Emmett during the Texas Tech and Texas game on Saturday at the United Supermarkets Arena.

Emmett is the all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,256 career points from 2001-04. A Dallas native, Emmett finished his career scoring 17.6 points per game with 765 rebounds, 201 assists and 164 blocks. He earned All-America honors during his senior season, was a two-time NABC All-District first team selection and three-time All-Big 12 first team member. He was selected in the NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics in 2004. He was inducted into the Texas Tech Hall of Fame in 2018.

For fans wishing to honor Emmett, a fund has been created with a goal of $25,000 - to provide to the Nancy Lieberman Charities for the installation of a Lubbock Dream Court in Emmett's name.
