Brewer Named WBCA Region Three Finalist

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball senior Brittany Brewer was named a Region Three finalist for the Coaches All-America award by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Brewer is one of 52 players from around the country to be named a regional finalist for the award, and one of 13 players from region three to make the cut. The senior is one of six Big 12 players to make the list. The selection committee will select the 10-member WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team from the 52 candidates.
The honor is the latest in a string of impressive postseason recognitions for Brewer, who was named an Honorable Mention All-American by both the Associated Press and USBWA in the last week. The Abilene, Texas, native also earned her first career selection to the All-Big 12 first team earlier this month.
The Lady Raider was the only player in the country to average 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game this season, and finished first among power five players with 4.4 blocks per game.
Brewer was also selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-American and was named the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for all of DI women's college basketball.
