RECAP: Texas Tech 2, Oklahoma 3

Oklahoma defeated Texas Tech 28-30, 25-20, 16-25, 25-18, 13-15.
Norman, Okla. –Texas Tech volleyball (12-8, 2-5) dropped a five-set road contest against Oklahoma (9-9, 3-4) Thursday night in Norman. The loss brought the Red Raiders to 2-4 in five set matches on the season.
Four Red Raiders finished with double-digit kills, led by Caitlin Dugan with a season-high 14. Karrington Jones collected 12 kills with seven blocks, four of which were solo blocks. Reagan Cooper and Brooke Kanas each added 10 kills. Three Red Raiders tallied double-digit digs as KJ Adams led the squad with 26 followed by Kenna Sauer and Alex Torres with 16.
The Sooners edged out the Red Raiders in a back-and-forth first set to take the early advantage. Tech reached the 20-point mark first, but Oklahoma put together a small run to take a 22-21 lead, forcing a Red Raider timeout. Tech scored the next two points out of the timeout to regain the lead 23-22 as Oklahoma took a timeout. A kill from Cooper created a couple of set points for Tech, which the Sooners fought off with three straight points for a set point of their own. The Red Raiders had another chance to claim the set after a Dugan kill made it 26-25, but once again the Sooners held them off, eventually claiming the opening frame 30-28.
The Red Raiders evened the match with a 25-20 second set win. After trading the first few points, Tech used a 6-0 run with back-to-back aces from Maddie Correa to take a 9-3 lead. The Red Raiders maintained the lead for the remainder of the set, leading by as many as seven, 14-7. The Sooners closed the gap to three at 23-20 but consecutive OU attack errors gave Tech the set.
Oklahoma took the third set 25-16, holding Tech to -.025 hitting in the frame. The Sooners closed out the third set winning 10 of the final 13 points.
Tech responded with a crucial 25-18 fourth set win to send the match to a decisive fifth set for the sixth time this season and the fifth time in Big 12 play. The Red Raiders held Oklahoma to -.026 hitting in the fourth set while hitting .225 to win the frame.
The Red Raiders took a 5-2 lead with an ace from Adams to force an Oklahoma timeout. The Sooners put together a 7-1 run to take a three-point lead following the timeout. Down 12-8, the Red Raiders took their second timeout of the set, looking to shift the momentum. The Red Raiders tied the set at 12 with four straight points, but were unable to seal the deal, falling 15-13 to end the match.
