VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW: Texas Tech at Oklahoma

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech volleyball (12-7, 2-4) travels to Norman for a pair of matches against Oklahoma (8-9, 2-4) Thursday, Oct. 14 and Friday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at McCasland Field House.

Thursday's match will stream on Sooner Sports TV while Friday will air on Bally Sports Oklahoma.

RED RAIDER QUICK HITS

Kenna Sauer earned her second Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week award on Oct. 12 after her performance against Iowa State in which she posted back-to-back 20 kill performances averaging 4.44 kills per set on the weekend. Sauer recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 13 digs to go along with her 20 kills. She then tallied a career-high six blocks in the Red Raiders four-set win over the Cyclones.
The Red Raiders split the series against Iowa State picking up their first home conference win of the season in Friday's match. Thursday Tech dropped a five-set battle after winning the first two sets of the match.
Texas Tech sits at 35^th the most recent RPI rankings, the fourth highest ranking in the Big 12 and one of five Big 12 schools within the top 40. The Red Raiders sit at 12-7 (2-4 in Big 12 play) with all losses coming against teams in the top 45, six of which were within the top 25.
The Sooners lead the series against the Red Raiders 42-37, owning a 22-13 record in Norman. However, it was the Red Raiders who came out victorious in the last two meetings. Tech's win last season was the first over Oklahoma since 2015 and their sweep of the Sooners was the first since 2005.
