PREVIEW: Texas Tech faces final road test at West Virginia

The Red Raiders face the Mountaineers Thursday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. CT and Friday, Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. CT.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech volleyball team (15-10, 5-7) is set for its final road trip of the regular season when the Red Raiders travel to Morgantown for a pair of matches against West Virginia (17-7, 6-6) Thursday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 19.
Thursday's match is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT with Friday's at 5 p.m. CT and both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

- After back-to-back sweeps of TCU, the Red Raiders jumped into sixth place in the conference standings with a 5-7 record, just behind Kansas State (6-6) and West Virginia (6-6) who are tied for fourth. With two crucial matches against the Mountaineers the Red Raiders could move into the top four of the conference with a pair of wins.
- The Red Raiders recorded one of their strongest serving matches of the season against TCU, with eight aces in the series opener, three of which came from Alex Kirby who tied her career high. Karrington Jones' two aces were also a career best mark.
- Red Raider libero KJ Adams closes in on a couple of milestones, she is just 40 digs away from 1,000 on her career and 28 digs from breaking into the top 10 in program history in single season digs. The grad transfer has notched 414 digs so far this season, quickly approaching Lisa Hilgers and Emerson Solano's 442 which ranks tied for 10th most by any Red Raider in a single season.
- Kirby needs just 32 assists to tie with Mary Loescher for 10th most in program history. The senior reached the 2,000-career assist mark earlier this season in Tech's win over Baylor, recording 44 assists. Kirby has tallied 843 assists this season, the most in a single season in her career. She has posted 40+ assists in 10 matches.
- The Mountaineers ride a four-match win streak into the meeting, including three of their last four Big 12 matches. WVU ranks in the top 50 in the NCAA in kills per set, averaging 13.6, the second most in the Big 12 behind Texas.
- WVU outside hitter/defensive specialist Skye Stokes is one of the best servers in the nation, ranking ninth nationally and second in the Big 12 in serves per set with 0.52. Her 42 total aces are the 26th most in the NCAA.
- The Red Raiders have fared well against the Mountaineers in recent years, winning three of the last four meetings. Texas Tech leads the series 11-9 but is just 4-5 in Morgantown.
