RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- The Red Raiders picked up two big wins last weekend on the road against West Virginia. Tech enters the match winning its last four matches with hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001.
- In her first season in Lubbock, libero KJ Adams has already etched her name into the Texas Tech record book by moving into the top 10 in program history in single season digs. Adams' 448 digs so far this season are tied for the eighth most by a Red Raider and she sits 10 digs shy of moving into seventh place. Adams is six digs from 1,000 on her career after making the switch to the libero position in 2020 at Grand Canyon.
- Senior setter Alex Kirby moved her way into 10th place in program history in career assists last weekend at West Virginia. The three-year starter has 2,401 career assists, passing Mary Loescher's 2,339. Earlier this season Kirby reached the 2,000-career assist milestone by recording 44 assists in a five-set win over No. 9 Baylor. She is now 40 assists away from moving into ninth place.
- The Red Raiders block came alive against West Virginia as Tech tallied 26 total blocks on the weekend. Brooke Kanas accounted for 15 of the 26 blocks, recording a career-best seven in the first match, before setting a new career-best with eight the next match. Kanas leads the Red Raiders in blocks this season with 105, a single season career high for the senior outside hitter turned middle blocker. Her previous best was 37 back in 2019.
- Texas enters the match with just one loss on the season, which came against Baylor on Nov. 6. The Longhorns are one win away from clinching at least a share of the Big 12 title and two wins from winning the conference outright.
- Texas has won the last 40 meetings against the Red Raiders in a rivalry that dates back to 1975. Tech won six of the first nine meetings but have not beaten the Longhorns since 2000. Texas has won 90 of 101 meetings.
