Tech’s Big 12 basketball opener rescheduled

In accordance with Big 12 Conference basketball game threshold guidelines, the Oklahoma State at Texas Tech men's game scheduled for January 1 has been moved to January 13. The contest will be carried on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with a 6 p.m. tipoff at the United Supermarkets Arena.
The No. 25 Red Raiders (9-2) will still host Alabama State at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and will now open Big 12 play at Iowa State on Wednesday, Jan. 5 in Ames, Iowa. All tickets purchased for the Oklahoma State game that was originally scheduled for January 1st will be still be valid for the rescheduled game on January 13th.
The postponement now sets up a packed schedule for Tech which will host Kansas on Jan. 8 before playing at Baylor on Jan. 11 in Waco, take on OSU on Jan. 13 and then play at Kansas State on Jan. 15. From the Jan. 5 game at Iowa State to a Jan. 24 game at Kansas, the Red Raiders will play eight conference games in 20 days.
