
Red Raiders Host New Mexico in Weekend Series

Game times for this weekend have been adjusted to Friday at 12pm and 2pm and Saturday at 12 pm.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The month-long home stand continues for Texas Tech (9-8) as the Red Raiders play host to New Mexico (1-15) for a three-game series this weekend at Rocky Johnson Field. The series starts on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
The Red Raiders are coming off a 5-2 opening week at home with wins over Texas State, Abilene Christian and Kansas City.
Tech split Wednesday's home opener against Texas State, falling 6-5 in game one, before responding with a 7-2 win in game two.
Saturday the Red Raiders defeated Abilene Christian in the opening game of the Texas Tech Invitational before falling to Kansas City. Senior pitcher Missy Zoch tossed a complete game one-hit shutout of the Wildcats and Maddie Westmoreland had the game's only run on a solo shot to left field.
Sunday Tech avenged its loss to Kansas City in walk-off fashion as Zoe Jones single to score Heaven Burton in the bottom of the seventh gave Tech the 4-3 win. The Red Raiders then defeated ACU 7-2 in the final game of the weekend.

RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- Heaven Burton hit her first career inside-the-park home run against Abilene Christian on Sunday. It was the first for Texas Tech since Karli Hamilton hit one against No. 25 Oklahoma State on March 30, 2018.
- Erin Edmoundson and Missy Zoch each rank in the top 10 in the Big 12 in strikeouts, games started and innings pitched. Edmoundson ranks first in games started (9) and second in strikeouts (44) and innings pitched (52.0). Zoch ranks fourth in games started (6), sixth in innings pitched (32.0) and seventh in strikeouts (30).
- Karli Hamilton's first home run of the season came against Kansas City on Sunday. The three-run shot in the fifth inning put Texas Tech ahead and allowed the Red Raiders to walk off the game in the seventh. It was the 25th home run of her career which ranks seventh in program history.
- Payton Jackson and Arriana Villa hit back-to-back triples against ACU on Sunday. It was the first time since 2019 the Red Raiders hit two triples in one game.
- The Red Raiders hold a slight advantage in the series over New Mexico winning 19 of 36 meetings. Tech won the last meeting between the two teams, an 8-1 victory in Lubbock in 2018. The Red Raiders are 9-3 all time at home against the Lobos.
