Red Raiders facing Crimson Tide in Bossier City.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Soccer began its spring campaign with a dominant 7-0 win over University of the Southwest last weekend.
Following the opening home victory, Tech will play three on the road to round out March.
"The three road games in March are key," said Stone after releasing the spring schedule. "LSU, 'Bama and UNT all in a row, with two of those matches in Dallas for our Red Raider fans and families there."
The Red Raiders will then start a two-game stretch against SEC opponents Alabama and LSU. The meeting with the Crimson Tide will take place March 13 at the First Bossier Classic in Bossier City, La. Stone's squad has not met Bama since a home-and-home tilt in 2009 and 2010. The Tide picked up one-goal wins in both matches, including a thrilling overtime contest in Lubbock in 2009.
Bama matched Tech's fall record last season, going 2-5-2. Much like the Red Raiders, however, the Crimson Tide's fall was not indicative of the program's success in recent years. In 2019, Alabama won 10 games and upset rival Auburn in overtime in the first round of the SEC Tournament.
First touch will be at 2:30 p.m. Live updates will be available on Twitter by following @TexasTechSoccer.
