Tech Set for Clash with Tigers of LSU
March 18, 2021 | Women's Soccer
Red Raiders prepped for second SEC opponent in two weeks.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech (4-5-2) will continue its spring season with a Dallas-area matchup against LSU on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Texas Woman's University.
The Red Raiders have opened the spring portion of the 2020-21 season with two consecutive victories. The slate began with a 7-0 win over University of the Southwest before beating Alabama, 1-0, in Bossier City, La., last weekend.
Tech's schedule will continue Saturday with the team responsible for ending Alabama's season in 2020: LSU. The Red Raiders met the Tigers at the First Bossier Classic last spring, where Kirsten Davis recorded the first hat trick of her collegiate career as Tech shut out the hosts, 3-0. Though this year's matchup against the Tigers will not take place in Bossier City, Dallas-area Red Raider fans will have a chance to see Tech in action at Texas Woman's University in Dallas.
"LSU is very different [than Alabama]," said head coach Tom Stone. "They're even more athletic and probably a lot more 1v1. Player-wise, they've got a more dangerous front line. We're looking forward to facing another really good team. They've got a lot to prove and they've been playing well this spring, so we're going to have to deal with that as well."
First touch for Saturday's game will be at 2 p.m. Live stats will be available here.
