
Jung, Conley Pick up NCBWA All-America Honors

The second All-America nods for the middle infield tandem
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech baseball's Jace Jung and Cal Conley have been named All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), it was announced Wednesday.

Jung was placed on the first team, while Conley received a third team nod. Tech's two selections were tied for the most in the Big 12.

This is the second All-America honors for both players following the 2021 campaign as both earned a spot on Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's All-America teams earlier this month.

The NCBWA has showered Tech with accolades over the last week with Jung and Conley both earning Freshman All-America honors and placement on the District 7 First Team. Jung was also chosen as the National Freshman Hitter of the Year and the District 7 Co-Player of the Year. Â Â

The Big 12 Player of the Year, Jung was a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection after hitting .337 on the year while leading the conference with 21 home runs, 67 RBI and a .697 slugging percentage. The freshman second baseman is a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and a Dick Howser Trophy finalist.

The Brooks Wallace Award winner for the nation's top shortstop, Conley enjoyed a terrific season where he hit .329 with 15 home runs, 13 doubles and 55 RBI on his way to All-Big 12 First Team honors.

The 2021 All-America team announcement precedes the presentation of the 34th Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear. The winner will be announced on Friday, June 18.
