Oklahoma heads to Lubbock for Big 12 matchup

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raider volleyball team is back at home this week as they host the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Tech (13-4, 2-2 Big 12) is coming off a loss to TCU last Saturday, but a few Red Raiders hit some milestones in the match. Brooke Kanas tallied 14 kills against the Horned Frogs, propelling her to 1,007 career kills. This total also ranks 10th in program history. In addition, Karrington Jones surpassed 300 career blocks with her seven-block performance.
In the same match, Kenna Sauer recorded her team-leading 10th double-double and Caitlin Dugan posted a season-high nine kills and a .643 hitting clip. Senior Reagan Cooper also picked up double-digit kills with 14 and KJ Adams joined Sauer with double-digit digs (12).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Oklahoma (11-5, 1-3 Big 12) holds an all-time 38-43 advantage over Tech, however, the Red Raiders have won three of the last four meetings against the Sooners. This season, the Sooners have wins over Gonzaga, Iowa and West Virginia, while picking up losses to No. 17 Baylor, No. 1 Texas, Kansas and Mississippi State.
As a team, OU totals 729 kills, 676 assists, 90 aces, 737 digs and 142.5 blocks. Offensively, they are led by Megan Wilson who has 206 kills, 265.5 points and 37 aces. Two other Sooners also have over 100 kills – Alexis Shelton (148) and Taylor Preston (135). Payton Chamberlain and Peyton Dunn lead the way at the setter position with 322 and 252 assists, respectively. On the defensive side, Callie Kemohah leads with 272 digs whiles Morgan Perkins posts a team-high 73.0 blocks.
TICKETS
Tickets to the match can be purchased here. Fans who come to the game wearing pink will receive discounted tickets - $3 for adults and $1 for youth. Gates are set to open one hour prior to the match and the clear bag policy is in effect. Fans can head to the ticket office of the NW entrance starting at 5 p.m. to purchase tickets.
