HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One
The Red Raiders started with an early, 2-0 lead thanks to an attack error on Baylor and a service ace for Sauer. Both teams followed by trading points until it was tied at 5-all when Dugan slammed one down. However, the Bears would go on to win six of the next eight points to take an 11-7 lead. Texas Tech chipped away, though, eventually cutting the lead to four when Karrington Jones collected a block and Dugan put down three more kills. But, Baylor would end up winning the set by a score of 25-20 on a slam of their own.
Set Two
Baylor began the next set with a 5-3 advantage before the Red Raiders won the next two points on a BU error and a Kanas kill to tie it at 5-5. Texas Tech went on a 5-1 run to take an 8-6 lead on slams from Kanas and Sauer. Baylor clawed back to tie it at 9-all, then the two teams went back-and-forth until Baylor took a 15-12 lead heading into the media timeout. The Red Raiders weren't fazed, though, as they came back to tie the set at 17-17, then took the lead on a Jones kill. Baylor came back and would win four-straight points, but Tech finished the set on a 6-2 run, highlighted by three kills from Cooper and a block by Dugan, to win it 25-23.

Baylor started with a 4-2 advantage, but the Red Raiders tied the set at 5-5 on a kill from O'Brien and an error on BU. The Bears were able to go ahead 9-8, but Tech went on a 3-0 run to retake the lead, 11-9. After Baylor tied it back up at 11-11, the Red Raiders would win four of the next six points on kills from O'Brien and Dugan to lead 15-13 heading into the media timeout. With an 18-15 Tech lead, Baylor would claim five of six points to force a TTU timeout. The Red Raiders were down 23-19, but would fight their way back to even the score at 24-24 on four slams from Cooper. Baylor, however, retook the lead and closed out the set, 27-25.
