
Red Raiders back at home on Friday against Iowa State

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders (14-6, 3-4 Big 12) are back in action at the United Supermarkets Arena on Friday, Oct. 20 to continue Big 12 play when they host the Iowa State Cyclones at 6 p.m.
Texas Tech faced No. 14 Baylor on Wednesday night, and after a tough battle against the ranked Bears, the Red Raiders would fall in four sets. In the match, Reagan Cooper led with 16 kills on a .297 hitting clip and Caitlin Dugan was right behind with 13 slams on .333 hitting, and a team-high six blocks.
Both Kenna Sauer and KJ Adams collected double-doubles in the match after Sauer put up 12 kills and 15 digs and Adams tallied 26 assists and 12 digs. Maddie O'Brien added to her ace total as she now has a team-leading 35 on the season, while also picking up five blocks on the night.
As a team, the Red Raiders total 1,023 kills, 938 assists, 97 aces, 1,125 digs and 185.0 blocks. Sauer leads Tech with 294 slams and 325.5 points, Reese Rhodes has a team-high 729 assists, Maddie Correa leads with 262 digs and Karrington Jones posts a team-leading 74.0 blocks.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Iowa State holds an all-time 12-15 record against the Red Raiders, with Texas Tech winning four of the last six matches dating back to 2019. The Cyclones are 13-7 on the season and second in the Big 12 with a 5-2 record. Iowa State is coming off a huge win on Wednesday after they gave No. 1 Texas its first loss of the season in five sets. The Cyclones also have wins against Iowa, Baylor, Kansas and Oklahoma.
As a team, the Cyclones total 1,037 kills, 972 assists, 102 aces, 1,110 digs and 209.0 blocks, which ranks seventh in the nation. Eleanor Holthaus leads the Cyclones in kills (252) and points (285.0), while Jaden Newsome (495) and Morgan Brandt (331) lead the team in assists. Defensively, Brooke Stonestreet posts a team-high 327 digs and Alexis Engelbrecht leads with 91.0 blocks.
