Cross Country set for Big 12 Championships Friday

It’s the second time this season the Red Raiders run on the LCU Course
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech cross country team is set for the Big 12 Championships Friday morning at the LCU Cross Country Course.
The women's 6k race will start the meet at 10:00 a.m. followed by the men's 8k race at 11:00 a.m. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the men's race. In addition, the top 15 runners from each side will be named to the All-Big 12 team.

The Field
In the top 25 poll, the Oklahoma State men come in ranked No. 4, while Texas comes in at No. 23. Iowa State, who is receiving votes, have been in the top 11 all season, reaching as high as No. 9 for three-straight weeks. The women for OSU come in ranked No. 3, while West Virginina is slotted No. 28.
Last Time Out
The Red Raiders ended their regular season slate at the Arturo Barrios Invitational (Oct. 15). In that meet, Edward Rush led the men coming in sixth overall with personal best 8k time of 23:54.70 as the team placed fifth overall.
In the latest USTFCCCA Mountain Region rankings, the men held onto their spot at No. 14.
Over on the women's side, Halena Rahmaan and Hannah Spears each finished in the top 100 out of 326 runners. Rahmaan recorded a 6k time of 22:06.40 in 72nd as Spears crossed the end line at 22:14.30 in 80th. Both times were season bests in the 6k.
Rush and Rahmaan have paced their respective squads in three-straight meets entering the Big 12 Championship.

- Parking can be found in several lots around the course for free. The Lubbock Christian School (2604 Dover Ave) will be offering paved parking spots for a small fee.
