Wallin wins second professional title at Albuquerque 15k

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Junior Olle Wallin earned his second-straight professional singles title after winning five matches at the Albuquerque 15k. In addition, both Dimitrios Azoidis and Franco Ribero made it to the doubles finals of the tournament.
Wallin has now won 12 matches in a row dating back to Sept. 19 at the West Texas Pro Tennis Open in the qualifying round.
Paired against one-seeded Emil Reinberg in the first round of the Albuquerque 15k, Wallin was able to beat the ATP 686th-ranked player in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, before defeating Warren Wood in the second round, 6-4, 6-3, to advance.
In the quarterfinals, the Red Raider took on seven-seed, Cash Hanzlik (ATP 1015). Falling in the first set, 6-3, Wallin would go on to overtake Hanzlik with 6-3 scores in the second and third sets to make it to the semifinals.
Wallin faced three-seed Osgar O'Hoisin (ATP 815), where he again went down a set after O'Hoisin won set one, 6-1. The Red Raider battled and got the best of the Irish player after claiming the next two sets, 6-3, 6-4, to make it to back-to-back ITF finals.
The Red Raider continued his hot streak in the Albuquerque 15k finals when he defeated four-seed Maciej Rajski (ATP 820) in straight sets, 7-6 (6), 7-5, to win his second-consecutive, and second overall, professional title.
On the doubles side, the Red Raider duo of Dimitrios Azoidis and Franco Ribero advanced to the doubles finals at the tournament after beating the four-seeded team of Yuta Kikuchi and Isaac Nortey, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (8). They would eventually fall in the finals after a hard-fought match against Alexander Maggs and Jan Pucalka, 7-5, 7-5, to claim second place at the Albuquerque 15k.
Both Piotr Pawlak and Isaac Arevalo are currently in Tulsa, Okla., competing at the ITA All-American Championships. The team will then continue tournament play at ITA Texas Regionals on Oct. 13.
