Red Raiders face No. 11 Baylor at home

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders (14-8, 3-6 Big 12) host the No. 11 Baylor Bears this Wednesday, November 2 at 6 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Texas Tech is coming off a tough loss to No. 2 Texas but are looking to bounce back this week against the Bears. The Red Raiders currently have 1,071 kills (13.1 k/s), 988 assists, 99 aces, 1,203 digs and 196.0 blocks.
Kenna Sauer leads the Red Raiders in both points and kills with 345.5 and 313, respectively. Her 313 slams also rank first in the Big 12, while she sits at second with 3.91 kills per set. Junior Reese Rhodes leads the team with 729 assists and ranks third in conference with 10.57 assists per set.
Maddie O'Brien has a team-high in aces and ranks second in conference with 36 total. Maddie Correa leads the team with 280 digs with Sauer right behind with 226. Karrington Jones and Brooke Kanas lead the way defensively at the net with 78.0 and 75.0 blocks.
In addition, Kanas is one kill away from ranking seventh in program history with 1,039 career slams. She is also six blocks away from 300 career blocks, while Jones only needs five blocks to rank 10th in Texas Tech's history book.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Texas Tech holds an all-time 51-40 record against the Baylor Bears. However, the Bears have won seven of the last eight matches against the Red Raiders, including a 3-1 victory earlier in the season on Oct. 19 in Waco. Baylor is 19-4 on the year and 8-2 in conference play, with their only two Big 12 losses coming against Iowa State and Texas. The Bears are currently on a four-game win streak – picking up wins over Kansas State, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Tech in the process.
As a team, the Bears total 1,150 kills (13.7 k/s), 1,039 assists, 116 aces, 1,082 digs and 218.5 blocks. Offensively, Baylor is led by Kara McGhee, who posts a team-high 279.5 points, while adding 205 kills. Lauren Harrison leads the team with 248 kills and both Lauren Briseno and Averi Carlson have over 20 aces with 26 and 23, respectively. On the defensive end, Sophia Keene leads with 356 digs and McGhee leads with 132.0 blocks, which is good for sixth in the nation.

Tickets to the match can be purchased here. Gates are set to open one hour prior to the match and the clear bag policy is in effect. Fans can head to the ticket office of the NW entrance starting at 5 p.m. to purchase tickets. In addition, the first 200 fans in attendance will get a free t-shirt and Bachelorette contestant, Kirk Bryant, will be signing autographs.
