Sauer notches AVCA Southwest All-Region honors

LUBBOCK, Texas – For the second season in a row, senior outside hitter Kenna Sauer was named AVCA Southwest All-Region after her dominant season in the Red and Black. Last week, Sauer also earned her second-consecutive All-Big 12 First Team award.
Starting in 28 of the 29 matches played, Sauer led the Red Raiders in almost every offensive category this season, including kills, kills per set, attacks, points and points per set.
During conference play, Sauer also started in all 16 matches where she posted 227 kills on 629 attacks for a .205 hitting clip, nine aces, 30 blocks, 254.0 points and a team-high 187 digs.
Sauer also led the team with 16 double-doubles and 27 double-digit kill performances, while ranking second on the team with 16 double-digit dig matches.
Leading the team in kills 22 times this year, Sauer totaled 423 slams, 3.92 kills per set, 1,126 attacks, 469.0 points, 51 blocks and 302 digs.
