
Tech drops final match heartbreaker at No. 22 MTSU

Despite leading 3-1, Tech fell 4-3
MURFREESBORO, TENN.-- The Texas Tech men's tennis team dropped a last-match heartbreaker against No. 22 Middle Tennessee on Friday afternoon (4-3) at the Adams Tennis Complex.Â

The Red Raiders (12-7) furious comeback powered by sophomore Olle Wallin came up just short, as the Blue Raiders (21-3) won their 15th match in-a-row.

After dropping the doubles points and falling behind early, Tech managed to rally during singles play. Junior Dimitrios Azoidis led off the scoring for the Red Raiders. Azoidis secured a three and four victory in straight sets.

On court number three, senior Ilgiz Valiev got the job done against Middle Tennessee's Stepan Holis, rolling to a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
Next in line for Tech was Wallin. The transfer won his ninth match of the season and his second straight. Wallin took down 123rd ranked Chris Edge by a score of 7-6, 4-6, 6-2.Â
