Texas Tech falls at Washington
September 02, 2022 | Women's Soccer
SEATTLE – Despite a season-high seven saves from keeper Madison White, Texas Tech fell to Washington, 1-0, Thursday at the Husky Soccer Stadium.
A set piece that eventually fell at the feet of Vanessa Millsaps in the 68th minute proved to be the difference for Washington (4-0-1), who remains undefeated on the season.
Texas Tech (1-2-2) jumped out the gate firing on all cylinders, tallying three shots in the first 15 minutes of action.
Washington's attack retaliated with four shots of their own in that same time frame. Both sides would eventually settle in, only allowing five shots from both sides through the remainder of the half.
Macy Schultz and Giselle Kozarski both ripped off shots in the 53rd and 57th minute, respectively, but neither found the back of the net.
After Washington's goal in the 68th minute, the Huskies were able to kill the rest of the clock without Tech firing off a shot.
White recorded a season-high seven saves in the loss.
