
Tech finishes sixth at Carmel Cup

The Red Raiders were paced by Gala Dumez who finished tied for sixth
PEBBLE BEACH, CALIF. – The No. 24 ranked Texas Tech women's golf program finished sixth Sunday at the 2022 Carmel Cup played at Pebble Beach Golf Club.
The Red Raiders were led by junior Gala Dumez who fired a combined three-round score of -1 to finish tied for sixth. As team, Texas Tech (+33) made the most pars (217) of any team in the eight- team field.
A pair of Red Raiders finished tied for 24th as sophomore Chiara Horder fired a final round 71 (-1) to finish at +9 overall. Horder recovered from an open round 81 to fire back-to-back strong rounds.
Freshman Lauren Zaretsky also finished tied for 24th, as the Canadian fired an even par round of 72.
Stanford fired a combined team score of -12 to roll to the team title. The Cardinal finished 13 shots ahead of Texas A&M (+1). Big 12 foe Oklahoma State finished third (+16), followed by Mississippi State (+24) and Arkansas (+28).
Oklahoma finished seventh at +58, one shot ahead of ninth place Vanderbilt (+59).
After firing a course-record round of 63 on Saturday, Stanford's Rose Zhang (-13) fired a round of 72 Sunday to finish five shots clear of teammate Meghan Ganne (-8).
