Red Raiders host No. 21 Baylor for Senior Day

LUBBOCK, Texas – After a short break, the Texas Tech Red Raiders are back in action as they host the No. 21 Baylor Bears for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Tech (8-15, 1-10 Big 12) is coming off a loss at Cincinnati back on Oct. 25. The Red Raiders are also playing their sixth opponent in the last eight teams who is ranked or receiving votes.
The Red Raiders tally 983 kills, 11.3 kills per set, 896 assists, 91 aces, 1,292 digs and 205.0 total blocks on the season. Offensively, Caitlin Dugan leads the team with 264 kills, followed by Brynn Williams with 248. Senior Reese Rhodes has a team-best 560 assists and both Abby Dickinson and Kate Hansen lead with 15 aces apiece. On defense, junior Maddie Correa records a team-best 310 digs and Hansen has a team-leading 99.0 blocks.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Texas Tech Red Raiders boast an all-time record of 52-41 against the Baylor Bears. However, the Bears are currently on a three-match win streak after winning twice in 2022 and once in 2021. Baylor is 13-9 on the year and 7-5 in Big 12 play. They have wins over No. 18 Rice, No. 19 Ohio State, Iowa State, UCF and Oklahoma. Some losses come against No. 2 Wisconsin, No. 7 Minnesota, SMU, No. 11 Washington State, No. 10 BYU and most recently in a reverse sweep at No. 5 Texas.
As a team, the Bears total 1,120 kills, 13.0 kills per set, 1,020 assists, 114 aces, 1,083 digs and 177.0 blocks. On the offense end, there are two players with over 200 kills – Elise McGhee (284) and Kyndal Stowers (211). Averi Carlson leads the team with 891 assists and also has a team-best 24 aces. Defensively, Lauren Briseno posts a team-leading 269 digs and Manuela Bibinbe leads with 76.0 blocks.

Doors open one hour prior to first serve at the Northwest entrance of the United Supermarkets Arena. The clear bag policy is in effect for all Texas Tech Athletics events. Fans can also purchase tickets online or at the arena (NW entrance).
Fans are encouraged to wear red and stay post match for Senior Day recognition of Destiny Cox, Maddie O'Brien, Madison Gilliland and Caitlin Dugan. Red Raider Nation will also receive free Texas Tech Athletics trucker hats while supplies last.
