Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge
Red Raiders leave Dallas with nine total wins

DALLAS – The Texas Tech Red Raiders men's tennis team had two players compete at the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge this weekend as both senior Reed Collier and freshman Jonas Gundacker recorded an impressive nine total wins at the tournament.
Collier went undefeated in singles with an unblemished 4-0 record this weekend, while only dropping one set. He first took on Arkansas' Jared Horwood as the Razorback won the first set, 6-4, before Collier evened it up with a 6-3 second set. The two went back-and-forth in the super tiebreak before the Red Raider came away with the 13-11 victory.
Collier then defeated California's Lucas Magnaudat in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-3, before downing New Mexico's Rafael Abdulsalam by a 6-2, 6-0 score. Collier closed out the competition with a victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Etienne Marty as he won, 6-4, 6-2.
The freshman from Austria provided two more singles wins for Tech after Gundacker overtook Ryoma Matsushita of New Mexico in two sets, 6-3, 7-6 (5), then beat Islander Antoine Vicaire by a 6-3, 6-4.
The Red Raider tandem only lost one match as they went 3-1 in doubles at the tournament after pairing up for the first time this fall. The Collier/Gundacker duo would defeat Arkansas' Jakob Mosvold and Jake Sweeney, 6-4, then get their second win against Cal's Alex Chang and Derrick Chen, 6-3. The pair closed out the final day of the tournament against host team and SMU duo, Callaway Clark and Liam Krall, with a 6-2 victory.
Up next, the Red Raiders compete in the Big 12-PAC 12 Challenge in Stillwater, Okla., Nov. 10-12.
